Who wears the pants in the family???

Well, apparently, Carly and Mark!

Funny story:

I ordered Mark a pair of jeans from Old Navy for Christmas. They were too big, so we sent them back and ordered another pair in a smaller size. The pants came. We were all excited, so Mark tried them on. I ordered a 34x34. It said 34x34 on the receipt, and on the pant packaging. However, when Mark tried them on, this is what happened!! Carly and Mark could both fit into the pants. The size was completely off: 48x32!! It was so funny. Needless to say, I had to call Old Navy about the issue. They gave us ten percent off another pair of pants with free shipping, and they came tonight. Don't worry, they fit!! Love these photos along with the story. So memorable.

Weston Loves To Eat!

Just thought these pictures were so funny! Weston is now eating peaches, bananas, applesauce, pears, black beans, potatoes, sweet potatoes, yams, squash, cheese, yogurt, rice, oatmeal, peas, and chicken... and loving every moment!

Here is Weston about ready to get into the bathtub. When he hears the water running, he crawls right to the tub, pulls himself up to a standing position and starts to dance for joy! He loves taking baths!! Afterwards, we wrap him in a frog-towel that Papa and Gma Jean gave to him for Christmas. Carly got a puppy-towel, which we'll have to blog later.

HALLOWEEN

Carly was Barney. Weston a frog. The cutest Barney and frog ever!! Our day was great. We went trick-or-treating downtown at the local businesses. All the little kids around us would yell, "Hey, It's Barney!!" Mark came home from work, we had dinner as a family, and then went trick-or-treating in the neighborhood. Carly convinced Mark to be a pirate. (So proud of my husband.) Mark pulled Weston in the wagon. Carly really got into the fun of running from house to house to get a little treat. And her tail wagged the whole way! When Carly said she was done (and hot in her costume), we went home and greeted the trick-or-treaters at our door. Carly even reminded the older kids that they could "only have one" piece of candy. Bedtime took a while for sleep to take over, but eventually it happened. What a wonderful 2007 Halloween!

Time After Time 80's Party

We had a party the Saturday before Halloween, and invited our friends who all knew each other pretty well. We knew that every one of these wonderful people would have a great time dressing up in 80's attire, singing karaoke, and drinking some crazy amount of alcohol! And with no kids, we did just that! It was the best time. Everyone dressed for the occasion, and we had a fabulous party. Pictured are: Eric and Beth, Carl and Joann, Trish and Kyle, and Laura and Matt.

Grandma Merle's 80th Birthday Party

Everyone was there! An 80th birthday party brought the whole family to Torrington Wyoming. There was a steak dinner on Friday night, a big party on Saturday, and a breakfast on Sunday! And lots of parties between those events.

Camping was fun, but very windy and "trainy". There were trains all through the night and wind all through the day! We had a great time, but were glad to be home. The kids crashed because they were so tired.

Aren't you proud, Gma Belva? Carly decided one morning that she was going to run a restaurant for her stuffed animals and dolls. As you can see, she is very professional while wearing her apron and bringing food to the table (ottoman). Just in case you're wondering, Carly is a wonderful cook!

Well, this is a little late. I've been horrible with postings. It just takes time. Here is our Carly LOVING her first pedicure. The lady who did it just adored Carly. Carly helped the nice lady give mommy a pedicure, and then Carly sat very still while the lady painted Carly's toes with ONE color (flourescent purple) and then glitter (sparklies). Weston was also very good. He slept until the end. It worked really well.

So, here are some updated photos of Weston. He is a growing boy... eats all the darn time!! He gained one pound in a one week! He is also very strong as you can see he is trying his hardest to raise his head during tummy time. He is a cutie, and so loved us.

Baby Weston is here and a little early! We are pleased to announce that Weston Allen was born at 6:25AM April 21st, 2007. He weighed 7 lbs 5 oz, and is 21 inches long. We are so blessed to have him and Carly. Shannon was amazing and should brag that she didn't even have an IV. Here are some pics of Weston and his family.

Easter 2007

Well, we had a very fun Easter here at home. Carly woke up and started looking for eggs that the Easter Bunny left for her. After we found all 48 eggs, her new books, and the presents that grandparents got her she was wound up. We ended up hiding and finding the eggs about 15 times. Carly wanted to hide them for Mommy, Daddy, and then she wanted to find them with us. It was so fun watching her find the eggs and get excited. We also went to church and learnd what Easter is really about. Carly had a lot of storys for us as she learns a lot in her class like we do from the sermon.

Here are some pictures of Carly in her dress up clothes. She never wants to put this stuff on, but decided today was the day. And when she makes up her mind (like her Mother) that's it. She went on a bike ride as soon as she had on all of her duds. We are so lucky to have such a fun loving little girl! She is our little blessing and keeps us going.

We went to the beach this weekend to have some fun. We went with Papa and Grandma Jean! We played on the beach, swam/relaxed in the hottub, played games, colored, shopped, tried to move boulders to make Carly laugh, and just had a good time. Papa and Grandma found a beach house that had lots of room and was very confortable for everyone.

Today, March 8, Mark turned 31. (And, yes, he is going to kill me for publishing his true age as I am only 29.) Hee-hee. We all know he's still 18 at heart. As you can tell from the pictures, Mark had a lot of help opening presents. Carly was so excited for Daddy to open his presents that right when he walked in the door from work, she started handing him all the boxes to open. She never once hinted at what was inside or spoiled the surprise, but continued to 'help' daddy. Carly also made daddy cupcakes and cookies, and they both had to blow out the candles. Happy Birthday, Mark!

Carly loves the water! She went under the water for the first time, and didn't spit and sputter. Mark is all smiles, too, as he has been wanting to take Carly to swim lessons since she was born.

Beach and Water in Maui

We played and played in the water and on the beach. Carly loved the sand. We bought her some sand toys. She also loved to run away from the ocean waves. Mark and Shannon went snorkeling three times in the course of our five day vacation. Here are some pictures that tell their own story.

Mark's Maui Scuba Diving Adventure

Scuba diving was pretty amazing. At first I couldn't get my ears to pop as I went down, but figured it out and got more confortable. I also got to see a huge turtle on the trip (Shannon was jealous). There weren't a ton of fish to see, but it was still worth it. I would do it again!

Here are some pictures from Jenny and Randy's wedding in Maui. It was a beautiful sunset wedding on the beach with only fifteen family members. As we watched the private ceremony, we also looked out onto the water to see turtles peeking out of the water. It was very lovely. Carly enjoyed the sand.
